ACCOUNTS MANAGER

 Haverhill, MA or Bridgeport, CT location (either)

 

United Staging & Rigging seeks an Accounts Manager to be the face of USR for our clients.  We seek a motivated individual to sell, design, and oversee equipment rental projects. You will cultivate relationships with our clients and make sure they have everything they need to make their events happen seamlessly. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

        • Developing strong relationships with existing and new clients
        • Conducting personal visits, telephone follow ups, and correspondence on a regular basis with your clients
        • Prospecting, nurturing leads, and closing sales
        • Handling incoming client calls
        • Interfacing with clients to establish project design and needs
        • Developing solutions to client’s event needs
        • Preparing a rental package that covers all of a client’s staging and rigging requirements
        •  Creating project estimates 
        • Processing dry hire quotes for rentals and sales
        • Conducting job site surveys
        • Entering quotes into R2
        • Communicating with production on equipment specifics, deliveries and onsite labor as required
        • Requesting deposits and processing invoices for your jobs, as well as collecting on missing and damaged item invoices.
        • Working with clients throughout the installation process.

This position can be based out of either our Haverhill, MA  *or* Bridgeport, CT locations. 

Standard office hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with 30min lunch.  However, since times outside of these hours are often required, work-hour flexibility is given.  

This is a salary position, paid weekly on Fridays. 

Skills & Experience:

      • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the staging and rigging industry
      • Must be self-motivated and able to self/direct daily activities
      • Knowledge of Vectorworks a big plus.
      • Highschool  / GED / or equivalent experience.

ELECTRICAL BENCH TECHNICAN

United Staging & Rigging is seeking a full or part-time Electrical Bench Technician for their Bridgeport, CT warehouse.  Duties will include testing, repairing, and building theatrical electrical and control cables.

      • Testing, repairing, and building theatrical electrical and control cables

This position will be based out of our Bridgeport, CT location. This is an hourly position.  8AM-5PM (Flexible for part-time)

Skills & Experience:

      • Highschool  / GED / or equivalent experience. 
      • Ability to lift 50lbs
      • 3 years experience building and repairing theatrical electrical equipment
      • Electrical license not required

WAREHOUSE / DRIVER 

We are currently hiring for this position in both our Haverhill, MA and Bridgeport, CT locations. 

 

As a USR Warehouse / Driver your primary objective is to execute on-time deliveries/pickups and perform daily warehouse activities as assigned. These duties will require an understanding of the equipment we supply and in-depth knowledge of the locations we serve. Customer service skills and professional appearance are extremely important. This position will require long hours, a flexible schedule, and mandatory
overtime.

Duties will include:

● Maintain clean driving record and valid driver’s license
● Maintain cleanliness of trucks, general inspection reports, and driver’s logs
● Available to make deliveries & pickups on short notice
● Available to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends as assigned
● General warehouse maintenance and upkeep
● Pulling and packing outgoing orders
● Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and customer vehicles
● Receiving, checking in, and putting away rental returns
● Maintain accurate pick list paperwork including missing items and non-USR
equipment
● Other duties as assigned

Standard warehouse hours are M-F 7:30-4:00 with a 30-minute lunch, although work/driving times outside of these hours will be required.

Compensation:

This is a non-exempt position (hourly) D.O.E.

● Ability to receive direction from management and work well with staff
● Ability to achieve 1C hoisting license within 3 months of employment
● Ability to obtain DOT Health card
● Ability to operate a 24’ Box truck

PROJECT MANAGER

 Bridgeport, CT  

 

United Staging & Rigging is seeking a Project Manager. As a USR Project Manager you will work as the main point of contact for our customers to ensure that they have a successful experience with USR from concept to completion. You will utilize the team atmosphere at United Staging to fulfill our customers’ needs and exemplify our “it’s not a problem” approach to customer service.

Below is an outline of the tasks you will handle on a day-to-day basis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Work with the Account Executive to accurately quote jobs
      • Work with customers to develop a solution to their event
      • Conduct job site surveys
      • Assign a Site Supervisor to the job and work with them to achieve the clients’ goals &
        expectations.
      • Prepare and complete rigging and staging system design or specification
      • Enter full equipment lists into R2 and communicate with shop on equipment specifics, deliveries
        and onsite labor as required.
      • Finding preferred equipment vendors
      • Sourcing and renting forklifts, personnel lifts, power generators when required
      • Creation of purchase orders as required
      • Processing invoices from equipment suppliers
      • Processing invoices from labor suppliers
      • Booking labor calls
      • Working with the Logistics Coordinator to arrange trucking needs
      • Providing equipment cut sheets & engineer drawings as requested
      • Work with engineering firms with the goal of getting stamped drawings
      • General understanding of the equipment we provide as well as its structural capacities and
        proper implementations. Continually develop your understanding of the products we carry and
        the standards of the industry we supply.
      •  Other duties as assigned

This position will be based out of our Bridgeport, CT location. This is a salary position paid on a weekly basis, payroll is distributed on Fridays.

Education and/or Experience:

      • Thorough understanding of drafting principles and symbols relevant to the theatrical and special
        event industry.
      • General understanding of CAD programs with the desire for constant improvement of skill level.
