On the top level, riggers in harnesses are hanging from the top of the structure getting ready to add vinyl skins to create a waterproof roof. A couple site supervisors are on the ground instructing different teams on projects to complete this. Behind the structure, another company's stage is being set up. Freelance Site Supervisors

MA or NYC-based

United Staging & Rigging is looking for Freelance Site Supervisors to join their MA and NYC lists. You must be MA or NYC -area based.  

You’ll help manage our labor crews on various staging and rigging projects, making sure projects are completed safely and on time.  You will report to the Lead Site Supervisor and/or Project Manager.  You will also work closely with other vendors and clients. Prior experience building and leading stage crews is a must.

A good attitude, ability to calmly and professionally manage large teams, handle potential issues, and deal with last-minute changes or requests are key. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
      • Supervising and leading local crews for large-scale rigging and stage-building projects
      • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
      • Coordinating with clients and adapting to changes efficiently and safely
      • Working with other vendors (lighting, sound, video, scenic) to make sure their products are hung safely
      • Availability to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends as necessary
      • Reliable transportation
      • Ability to work as a local in your area
      • Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
      • Rigging and stage-building experience is a must
      • Experienced in managing crews for staging, rigging, and structure builds
      • Ability to read and follow plots
      • Commitment to site safety above all else
      • OSHA30 – have or obtain within 3 months
      • Quick problem-solving skills
      • Be able to lift 50 lbs throughout the day
      • Be of good character, work ethic, and a self-starter

ENTRY-LEVEL SITE SUPERVISOR

Bridgeport, CT & Salem, NH

Site Supervisors manage labor teams to complete stage and structure builds safely and on time. You will lead various staging and rigging projects on site, and work closely with other vendors such as lights, audio, video, and scenic.

Experience with rigging, stage builds, and leading crews is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

An OSHA 30 certification will be required within 3 months of employment.

This is an entry-level position.

DRIVER: Box Truck

Salem, NH 

As a USR Driver, your primary objective is to execute on-time deliveries/pickups, with a secondary role performing daily warehouse activities as assigned.  
 
This position will require long hours, a flexible schedule, and mandatory overtime. Customer service skills and professional appearance are extremely important, as you will engage often with clients and venue security.
 
The ability to drive a 24′ box truck in and around major cities and highways is crucial. Knowledge of our industry and gear is a bonus, but it can be learned.  
 
Duties will include:
      • Maintain clean driving record and valid driver’s license
      • Perform general warehouse help as needed when not driving
      • Maintain cleanliness of trucks, general inspection reports, and driver’s logs
      • Available to make deliveries & pickups on short notice
      • Available to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends as assigned
      • Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and customer vehicles
      • Maintain accurate pick list paperwork, including missing items and non-USR equipment
      • Other duties as assigned

CDL DRIVERS

Salem, NH  

United Staging & Rigging is a live entertainment company that has been serving the entertainment industry since 1986.  
 
We are looking for CDL drivers to be based from our Salem, NH shop. You must be comfortable driving flatbeds, 53′ vans, step decks, and 24′ straight trucks in and around the Boston / New England area. 
 
The entertainment industry is a heavily deadline-driven one, where work is completed any hour of any day.  This means you must be able to work an irregular schedule that involves nights, weekends, and holidays. However, most trips will be in the north/east USA, with occasional longer trips as needed. We are not a touring company, so any longer-distance trips are short-term. 
 
We pay hourly instead of per mile, and pay 100% health insurance for full-time drivers. Drivers who are willing to help in the warehouse during non-driving and slower seasons will be prioritized. Prior experience in staging, rigging, or the entertainment industry is not necessary. 
 
Duties include:
      • Maintain a clean driving record and valid CDL 
      • Maintain cleanliness of trucks, general inspection reports, and driver’s logs
      • Help keep vehicles in good working condition
      • Maintain accurate pick list paperwork, including missing items and non-USR equipment
      • Available to make deliveries & pickups on short notice
      • Available to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends as assigned

      • Driving in and through major cities like Boston and NYC.

WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

 Bridgeport, CT

 

United Staging & Rigging is seeking a full or part-time Warehouse Associate. You will be working our warehouse prepping orders, putting away orders, and maintaining gear. You will report to the Assistant Warehouse Manager. This role is a great way to learn more about rigging, rigging gear, and preparing gear for jobs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
      • Prepping and picking outgoing orders
      • Loading/unloading USR, customer, and vendor trucks
      • Checking in and putting away rental returns
      • Maintaining, testing, and repairing equipment
      • General warehouse maintenance and upkeep
      • Availability to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends as necessary
      • General understanding of the equipment we provide; standards of our industry a plus
      • Other duties as assigned

Standard warehouse hours are M-F 8:00-5:00 with a 60 minute lunch, although working times outside of these hours will be required.

Skills & Experience:
      • Highschool  / GED / or equivalent experience.
      • Be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
      • Be proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
      • Be of good character, good work ethics, and a self-starter
      • Ability to receive direction from Assistant Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager and work well with all staff
